I noticed that on Yahoo Search now, search results alternate between including 2 & 4 premium sponsored results (the ones that appear above the organic results).
Have others noticed this, and if so for how long?
Any help is greatly appreciated,

this has been the case for a real long time now...Not sure exactly how long though...
Search volume and bid prices determine whether they show 4 or 2 sponsored results.

... and it also depends on the search term. Some search terms have bids, but Yahoo! chooses not to display any paid listings
