In Overture, can one show one URL and go to another?

I am using a shopping cart that has a nice conversion tracker built in which requires me to put the shopping cart URL into the Overture ad.

For AdWords, they allow me to have both a public and a private URL so in this case the shoppingcart URL never shows publicly.

The user gets to the site, gets tagged with the cookie and redirects on to the real product pages.

If they buy, the cookie from the sale gets hooked up with the cookie from the enter/redirect so I can tell what they paid, and what it cost me to get them into the site.

Simple, cheap, clever, non-techical.

I'm sure there are many other ways to skin the cat.

Any suggestions on how to hide the url in Overture?

C.

Overture PPC only show the domain of the URL.

I don't think this is possible. Would they allow a URL to redirect to your shopping cart? Probably not...

Overture do allow a redirect. I do it on my account for tracking purposes - I track the information and then redirect to the relevant page.

There are a few points - redirect must be instant (no three second displays etc...) and must not disable the back button. They will drop you if your adverts do not honour the above.

If you set up your URL to www.WebmasterWorld.wherever/shoppingcart/cgi-bin/cart.cgi?addproduct=bluewidet&quantity=1

The URL displayed to the public would be:
www.WebmasterWorld.wherever

That solves my problem .. you guys (who responded) are great!

Now.. is there an easy way to add "&adid=Overture&keyword=KEYWORD" in all of my thousands of ads which I have submitted with just the domain URL?

Thanks

Anyone to answer my question in previous post? (Now.. is there an easy way to add "&adid=Overture&keyword=KEYWORD" in all of my thousands of ads which I have submitted with just the domain URL? )

Also, I called Overture to findout if they can enable bulk upload to my account. The representative was shocked to see that I had uploaded 60,000 search terms in my account manually without using bulk upload feature? She then said these are too many search terms and I should first create several sub accounts and categorize existing search term, before she can enable bulk upload feature. She said it would become very difficult for them to manage that many terms.

Thanks

You can do the same thing in Overtue. Call them and request a url "mask".. I believe they can only do it on the account level though..
