Overture UK

The worst service of any online ads I've ever used

Why would overture UK be so slow in putting ads online? You would think it was in their interest to get them online so they get some income from them. Over a week since I put some new ads on and just an automated reply to my email (dated the 21th) saying they are currently reviewing them. There's nothing complex about the ads or content - its identical to my overture US listings. This is the first time I've used Overture UK - are they always this slow?

In my experience google US are fast (sometimes listing within 1 day) and UK always take at least 3 days.

Although I am British, I have to say that regarding internet dealings, the US are usually more "on the ball" than we are!

You may check your listings' editorial status and see if they've been declined or are still pending.

Overture UK, The worst service of any online ads I've ever used

I have been an Overture UK advertiser since 2001, and probably spent over £500,000 with them.

Their listings procedure has improved 1000% over this period, and seems pretty quick these days.

So as mentioned, check editorial status, and if it was a new account, has the CC been verified.

another reason could be this:
[overturebirthdayparty.co.uk...] :)

Yes I've checked the editorial status - it still shows those ads as pending. The credit card has been charged OK and the first ads I put up just last week are all running and showing good clicks and sales so I really would like these up well in time for christmas buyers. Their email from yesterday stated that the ads "are currently under review with one of the editors". I wonder when they will be back from their birthday party!

Is it possible to set up 2 tracking codes on overture (two exit pages?) using their conversion tracking tool?

So if i have a "thanks for buying a £5 widget page" , i can track this differently from "thanks for buying a £600 widget"

That so, so, so puts our Christmas bash to shame...my respect for Overture's just gone up a couple of notches!...

The only problem with the party was the music was so loud you could not have a conversation with anyone, so drinking and dancing was all there was left to do.

I will have to do some PPC - if only to get into this party each year!

My experience is that Overture UK is dreadfully slow compared to Overture US, Espotting, and Mirago.

Twice this past year I've made large Overture UK submissions only to have the editor claim that the clients' sites were down. I can't prove otherwise, but the clients'site stats sure didn't show any apparent outages.

Well - I'm generally with Shak, Overture UK's service is very good for us. Occassional slip ups, but it is the prifessionalism with how these slip ups are handled that is important to us.

We also liked going to their party.
