sorry if this is a little off-topic, i am currently using overture and while i am fairly pleased with my results; how can i increase my ratings in the free results?

for instance, on Yahoo, my site is right at the top for sponsor links but for the "Web Matches" it is ranked 7th.

i have done most of the usual things; optimized keywords,robots.txt, word count on pages, etc.

i'm even using Web Position Gold 2, but still can't seem to get better free ranking.

as a note i have only been on this SEO campaign for 6 weeks, is that too soon to tell if my efforts will pay off?

It is pretty early to tell but be sure to also get a lot of legitimate links from other high quality sites. Also, try to get your keyword in the anchor text of these links.

cross links from business partners or affliates?
