It seems that Overture has been down for 2 days

Has anyone else seen this or is it just me?

Eric

I don't remember if I checked it on Thursday night, could this have something to do with the POWER OUTAGE?

Where are the overture servers?

Do they have multiple locations in differnt states?

EIT,

The reason they are down is that they are performing a major upgrade, and will be offline for 45 hours from Friday through Sunday/Mondy depending on your time zone.

too much information

I was able to get on about an hour or so ago, but it bogged down on me and I haven't been able to get on since.

(Irritating since I want to edit several listings now that my site is upgraded. But I do understand)

I'm surprised that they couldn't do this more smoothly seing as how large their system must be. Seems like they could have just pointed to a new server with the new system.

Guess I just get to wait it out. :(

They've got a message up stating that they are still working on the upgrades. I'm crossing my fingers they'll be finished soon - the powers that be will be breathing down my neck soon for the PPC numbers from the weekend. :)

Haha, I'm in the same boat. Looking at our internal numbers it looks like Overture sent us a fraction of traffic they normally send us, about 1/4. I am anxious to see Overture's reporting to get a better idea of what happened this weekend.

Change is painful, even when going from bad to good. The improvements will make a difference for advertisers who take the time to understand the new features.

It's annoying that the service has been so interminably slow. But at least it's been the same for everyone.

I'm able to get in, looks like all the links are working, etc. but only about 10 of our 160+ search terms are appearing. Reports are blank, been like this all day...I wonder if AdWords is seeing a spike in all of our spending today, since not too many of us are able to adjust bids on OV?

Nothing is going to happen tonite it seems. We can't even get a spend report for the weekend from the platinum team. Our daily spends seem to have doubled with broad match implemented but it is hard to tell w/o an actual report.

Don't use broad match - it's a suckers bet if you ask me. With the limitations of 15 keywords, phrase is the way to go.

We do a lot of broad match on google with a small number of negative keywords with each ad group and do pretty well with it so I imagine it will do the same on overture.

But we'll see... (once we can get reporting!)

Hi

I still see Overture down- out of the 150 search terms we see very few appearing online- is it working for anyone?

Hi

Have you been talking to the Overture Guys- they shud move fast- any estimates as to what % of traffic we might have lost? Considering the fact that this happened over the weekend.

Overture is finally back up for me!

I just hope it stays that way.

Yes, back up a bit.
Nice new features. Especially the offline feature which allows you to take an ad out.
Wonder when the other 90% of our listings will be back up.

Even though I am bidding for good positions on the Overture front end the results are not just showing up- anybody has a clue if it could be because of the new "Match Listings"

As in if I keep them standard would they be back?

Even though we have been bidding high- overture backend shows- on the front end I do not see it reflecting- could it be because of the new Match Listings

Any suggestions as to what works best?

I'm in the UK and Overture is still down... Very frustrating as I haven't been able to access it for 4 days now and a couple accounts have gone offline because I haven't been able to add money. :S

To top it all off today is my last day at work before I go on holiday and if I can't log in by the end of the day then I won't be able to add money to all the accounts to keep them going while i'm gone for a week or check bids to make sure spending doesn't get out of hand. Argh!

Overture has forever been a thorn in my side.

I was able to get in however 70% of our listings (all of the important ones) are not there. They are on-line however. Checked that through the main Over search site.

What I can't understand is how they allowed this to go through without extensive testing. Some engineering heads should roll. Really MM.

Oops, there they are - I cleared cookies and "poof" the missing terms appeared. I suppose I should have read the fine print on the login page...

I cleared cookies and cache and sure enough my listings re-appeared under "all listings". As soon as I tried to get into one of my specific categories it locked up. When I tried to go back to the original page it wouldn't load.

Very frustrating. It also appaers all of our listings are under "broad match" which we don't want however I can't do anything to change it.

It would be good PR and save thousands in customer service calls to just give everybody a 25% discount for these days of troubles.

Called them again today and they said reporting won't be up until 6pm tonite...I think we'll be lucky if reporting is up by then.

A bunch of listings that were fixed bidding have gone to auto bidding and the pricing has changed on a lot of keywords.

Maybe they had to restore from a backup?

Still desperately intermittent.

Overture is having some major problems. Looks like to me they are trying to restore to the 15th. This is horrible - you know someone has not slept in 4 days.
