OV understand their CTR rates?

I have a number of very targeted ads on OV that might get 10-15 clicks a month, and combined get around 400 leading to over 75 sales.

Our CTR rates vary from 15-35% for these terms. We have a few terms with 25% CTR and 4-6 competitors that is listed as a low click index area being in danger of it being removed.

An email to OV gets the pat response of it's determined by position and average CTR for that term for your competitors as well.

With a 25% CTR and 4-6 competitors, how can other's be doing so much better than we are that ours will be removed?

I've had this problem with OV multiple times, and they just don't seem to understand, or maybe I don't and I think 15-25% CTR is good for OV.

And of course, our OV rep doesn't respond and we have to use the standard support center request.

Has anyone else had this problem, or found a way for OV to just remove the low CTR tag?

Thanks

I am at a loss when it comes to the CTR too. It is assigned when your CTR is lower than that of the other ads. But just because the top performing ad gets a 50% CTR and you get a 20% doesn't mean that your ad is bad, but this is how OV veiws it. I think they stumbled on the LCI thing. They rushed into it too fast (in order to keep up with google) w/o really thinking it through.

We've got quite a few keywords in campaigns with a 5 bar ranking, and yet we have never had a click at all.

I think that the subjectivity is based around the quality of the title and description, whether you deep link or not, if there are other advertisers who are doing better than you, randomness.

Steps to take if you get a low click index :

1. Raise or lower your CPC
2. Change the title
3. Change the description
4. Change the landing page
5. Remove the keyword
6. Ignore it and hope it gets better.

We've done a lot of 6 and some times we've lost out and some times it's worked, no pattern, no logic.
