Yahoo only showing 2 overture listings on top now

I think with the new Yahoo style change they are now showing 2 Overture listings on top and 3 at the bottom. I'm pretty sure last week it was 3 on top and two on the bottom.

Oh well so much for my super secret strategy of bidding for 3rd spot on all my listings. :(

Hm, depends on the query. For example, I still get 4 at the top for a number of searches.

I clearly see 4 at the top in some KWs.

Hmm, this morning the same keyword has 4 on top and 2 on the bottom, I wonder if there is a method to this?

It seems that Y! is only showing the top two Overture results on terms where the bid is around 50 cents. This has the effect of increasing the friction/competition for visibility, among other things.

I'm beginning to think that Y wants to publish results in X amount of time. If O is delivering their feed too slowly them Y just takes what they get in X time. Sometimes O is slow and at other times they are not.

No. That's pure speculation.

I'm not saying any thing more because I did my research and confirmed what I see. There's no speculation, about what I'm seeing... and doing.

Everyone else is being quiet about this, and for a reason. And I'm going to follow suit about the rest of what I'm seeing. Sorry.

I'm not too sure what to think.

I've been using computers at work and at home to look at this, I'm at work now and the listings are 2 on top and 3 on bottom.

I was at work when I seen the 2 and 3 the first time. I was on my home computer when I posted the listings were 4 on top and 2 on bottom, but I haven't checked from there today, yet.

7 of the top overture advertisers on this keyword are over $2.00/click.

I need to check from different IP's I think.

I'm not seeing any Over results at all, for my keywords, or any other keywords for that matter....only G backfill....Am I missing something?

I see it -- more likely 2 vs 3 might be based on the traffic for the search term

But the effect can be to increase bids for low traffic terms

I'm not seeing any overture results either @ Yahoo.com. Even with terms you would very much expect there to be sponsored listing. There again it may be due to tzhe fact I'm calling it from German and there may be some geo ip cloaking going on but no redirection from what I can tell. Anyone in the states able to call up sponsored listing for say 'real estate'?

Maybe you are right Webby, I'm in S-Africa, so maybe that explains why I can't see anything too.
