Managment time for Overture

How long does it take?

Hello. I was wondering how long, on average, people spend per day or per week managing their campaigns on Overture. I am thinking about starting my own campaign and am trying to see if it is feasible. Thanks!

double posting gets really confusing, how about we keep it to 1 thread, will be a lot better in the longrun.

or alternatively call it "manage PPC campaigns" then include Espotting, Overture and Google in the subtitle.

apologies to the moderator in advance for suggesting hard labour.

I try to review every week-end. I review the amounts spent and the bids and figure out if the cost is worth it. Like I spent a lot advertising cholesterol monitors and had few sales.

I have made some horrific errors with Google, not Overture, where I hit a $10 cost per click instead of 10 cents. The interesting thing is that it was for high cost products, the most I paid was $4.45 and I made money.

I just joined today after a credit card fraud issue. I think this will prove very helpful. The ads are bringing me business but figuring out the cost of ads to the gross sales is formidable.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, senor and Boston_Princess. I think the time spent depends entirely on your particular situation. Key factors are how many terms you are monitoring, how active the competition is, and what position you are trying to hold.

People with hundreds of terms, high positions and active competitors may have a full time staffer working PPC. In my industry, with a handful of terms and semi-active competitors, I get by with two or three checks a day.

If all you want to do is bid the minimum (or any fixed figure) and see if any traffic comes in, then no maintenance is required.
