Maybe this is not new to you. I've been running some ads in Swedish for 2 years at Overture (US site).

Before xmas I submitted more Swedish ads. 2 times they were rejected for "could not reach website" - which I doubt.

The third time they were rejected for "cross-promotional language". When I wrote to customer service (twice) they said they are now only accepting listings in English and Spanish.

Overture ads show at Altavista.com which is perhaps the no:1 search engine in Sweden.

AAaAAAAAh what shall I do?

Have you had similar problems?

Use Adwords!

Maybe overture are thinking of launching a new Swedish office, and charging in Swedish currency, whatever that is (Im sorry dont know!) Kronas? Seeing its possibly a high value currency I bet the minimums will be much higher too in exchange terms ala UK Overture.

Hej Johannes

On this one i have to desagree

<Which is perhaps the no:1 search engine in Sweden.>

I dont see any traffic from AV at my clients sites even if they got topranking. It have been better than before but not wourth to waste any money and time on.

You cant put swedish words to Overture, but i suggest that you put the money on google instead they have a much more click through and its cheaper too and a lot more traffic than Overture

Have you tried Espotting they have the adwords in swedish now too, i have not tried it but iam sure there is someone here that can bring some light of how espotting works for the europe area.

Btw Welcome to WebmasterWorld

Ove! My Overture listings has been very worthwhile. My old ads are still working and I get lots of clicks from AV. They have lower conversion than Adwords but are still good value. From my logs I see that AV is still no1 or no2. But I was a bit quick to say they are no1 in Sweden. But they are big! I wouldn't write this if it wasn't important for me.

Thanks for the tip about espotting, I wasn't aware of that. But unfortunately their 2 kr minimum bid is a bit too high for me.

I have some listings on ove.com that are in foreign languages, that I had installed them before they instituted their policy of verifying the validity of key-words. Once they started doing that, they refused to take any non-English key-words. My foreign language listings are still there, and producing nice results :-)
I'd add more if I could!

Louponne, just to get that right: You want french kw to be displayed worldwide at all OV outlets?
Because they do have a french department, where surely you can bid on french terms?

Sorry, if I misunderstood you here.

Yes, I guess that sounds wierd, heini - before ove verified kw and before they had a french site, I entered a few french kw combinations on the ove.com site. They generated, and continue to generate, "quality" visitors. I'm sure it's francophone people using the english-language overture partners. Now of course you can't do that anymore, and yes, of course, I'm also use overture.fr
Sorry if my message just confused things!

That's what I thought, johannes - there's no longer any way to "sneak" foreign-language keywords into overture.com...
