Drastic Changes in CTR on Overture

Impressions down - Clicks are the same!

Looking at our stats from October we found this:

For several keywords the number of impressions went down as far as 50% compared to previous months. What strikes us is: click-through remains almost the same. We don't know how to read this. We didn't change copy or position. But we _doubled_ CTR from 10,2% to 22,5%! I don't think this is something to be happy about, because we didn't so our sales go up correspondingly.

We are sitting in a niche market in Germany and are bidding on most of the keywords on our own so we don't have the possibility to check with somebody else.

Did anybody else see a comparable effect?

You know, it could be that your competition changed. We see that affecting us both ways (Up and down on the CTR). Your competition may have changed their copy to something awful or withdrew all together. Your clicks could remain the same even though the immpressions were down.
