300% CTR at Google Adwords

It's not a joke - thats what the reporting tells me

I admit it, I work very hard to optimizing my Adwords accounts and I do get very nice CTRs but I just never imagined that I would exceed 100% - but I did

A few days after setting up a new account I was (happily) surprised to see that one of the listings was performing with a 300% CTR. Yes, that's right, the report show that 3 times more people clicks the ad than it was viewed. Can't get much better then that, right? :)

If you don't believe me I've got the screen dump to show - just drop me a sticky and I'll forward it to you

I think I might start using this screen dump for promoting my PPC-management abilities ;)
- I bet Google won't mind - after all, they produced the report to me ….

I see the same sort of thing all the time. When I emailed them about this, google's response was:

"This may have been caused by a server delay which caused you to see abnormal or erroneous data in your account's reports. This situation is temporary. Our engineers have been notified, and are working to resolve this problem as quickly as possible."

That was month's ago, not temporary, and it doesn't appear that they are working to resolve this problem as quickly as possible.

There appears to be a lag between the posting of the clicks and the actual number of searches. In my experience they always catch up.

Yeah, and don't lose sleep over this. Happens sometimes.
Some of my campaigns have a CTR of 18% - I have never been able to maintain 300% CTR :)

Also, I heard lately that accounts that have a certain CPM are rolled up into the premium spots if there are no premium advertisers for the keywords. This may be old news but I just found out.
