Wow, big news and your first post too, tungshan. Welcome to WmW!

And thanks for breaking that news here. It leaves room for a lot of speculation. Who will fill the vaccuum now?

Looks like Google. Listings are showing up over there at AOL Search. Overture continues at Netscape, but that supposed to phase out by August, according to the Overture release I received. CompuServe is still showing both Overture and Google, but Overture will probably drop soon. See also this other thread here: [webmasterworld.com...]

Can't post the release and Overture hasn't put it out there, but info similar to what's in the article listed above in the thread. Overture will likely post the release here soon: [corporate-ir.net...] And here's an additional article [quicken.com].

I did a rundown on everything I know on both ends so far, which can be found on my homepage. If the moderator wants to post a link to that, pretty easy to spot on the home page.

FYI, the Google ads on AOL Search are geosensitive, so if you are outside the US, you won't see them at all or only see those targeted toward your country, just as with Google itself -- unless you use a system to mask your IP address, such as [the-cloak.com...]

For non-paid results, is AOL still using Inktomi, or is it using Google?

Me too Marcia. I believe when the Google results show up our traffic will significantly increase. Hope it's soon!

Shares of Overture are slumping $9.45, or 28 percent, to $24.74 in pre-open trading over the Redibook ECN on Wednesday morning.

Nice article DS.

>shares

Say, that's a big drop. And considering they didn't settle that shareholders suit yet...

I don't see Google results for keywords...

They are suppose to be where the Overture Listings were right?

does anyone know when they start or did anyone see google paid listings somewhere??

Hey Sodak,

>For non-paid results, is AOL still using Inktomi, or is it using Google?

It is still using Ink.

I didn't see anywhere they say that Ink is getting replaced. Everywhere i read it was Aol replacing Overture's listing with google's paid listings

"today announced a multi-year agreement that will make Google's popular search technology and targeted paid listings available on America Online brands."

here is the link:
