Are there more than 5 Overture UK listings used anywhere?

Any sites showing them all?

Having started to set up an Overture UK campaign for a site, I have noticed that the campaign isn't getting any clicks. I have targeted every phrase that can reasonably be used (around 75) for the topic. However, the site can only really support up to about 10p per click.

10p puts the site in the top spot for 3 or 4 mostly useless phrases, but usually around 10th or worse for the rest. It has only just occurred to me that perhaps only the top 5 Overture UK listings are ever used?

My main experience of UK PPC is with Espotting, where sites such as Abrexa UK sometimes show far more than just the first 5 results.

Are there any UK sites that show Overture UK beyond the first 3 to 5?

The busiest site is Freeserve which shows all Overture listings. AJ UK has a drop down menu with the top 10 in it.

Lazerzubb, thanks but I did mean sites that are actually used by end users, not just webmasters checking out the latest PPC cost for their keywords ;)

Thanks Makemetop. I suppose it is simply a matter of finding more phrases or accepting that PPC simply isn't going to be cost effective for that particular site using Overture UK.

Abrexa_UK,

This is the situation currently :

Lycos.co.uk - Top 2 shown at the top of 1st Page, next 3 at the bottom of the page
Yahoo.com (yahoo.co.uk show Espotting results) - Top 3 at the top of 1st page, next 2 at the bottom of 1st page
Freeserve - Show all the Overture listings, then backfill with Google results
Infospace - Show top 10
MSN - Show top 3 at top of 1st page, show 4-6 at top of 2nd page, 7-9 at top of 3rd page etcc.. It's often why we like being in 4th or 7th
Alta Vista - Shows the top 3 and then a link to show "More Sponsored Macthes" which has the rest.
AOL - Same deal as MSN i.e. 1-3, 4-6 7-9 etc.. until they run out

In terms of percentage of use I have a client that is running an ad that has had 979 clicks since the 8th August on Overture UK (cost of ad 20p or less). The last 100 clicks have come from the providers as follows :
AOL - 4 clicks
MSN - 59 clicks
Yahoo.com - 7 clicks
Infospace - 1 click
Freeserve - 15 clicks
Lycos - 3 clicks
Alta Vista - 5 clicks
"Others" - 6 clicks

"Others" might be smaller affiliate sites, which is particularly the case with Espotting, or it may be ones where we were unable to identify the source.

I'd like to think there will be more than 75 keywords for your client, but hope that helps.

That's great, thanks. It does mean that anything in 10th position or beyond will get very little coverage - Freeserve being the only one likely to send any traffic at all.

Maybe we can stretch the budget to aim for 7th position for some of the phrases to give it a go.

Thanks again everyone.

I still think there is a whole bunch more inventory that you could bid for that is popular with searchers but not with advertisers. I am sure we have another 12-18 months before the market gets saturated as it is in the States, when every company is using PPC.

There is also the introduction of Overture's Match Driver tool, which might eliminate some of the skill involved in identifying the niche keywords.
