Yahoo has set a deadline of April 11 for bids in the sale of its assets.

It's interesting to think that that it may be sold off in whole or in parts. Which parts would you acquire?

Yahoo is hoping to whittle down the field of about 40 firms—which all signed nondisclosure agreements in recent weeks—to a smaller set of players who are serious about a purchase of the struggling Web properties. Yahoo Sets a Deadline for Sale Bids [wsj.com]

Yahoo is a sad shadow of it's former self. who would have thought that in the peak of it's popularity if would one day be reduced to a yet another struggling web company. I have fond memories of Yahoo chat and Yahoo messenger. Today if you login to Yahoo messenger you will see a list of contacts with no one online. Sad!

I put in a bid for the bang. You know, the exclamation point. All the rest of their assets are money pits for future owners.

A report indicate Verizon is interested in bidding for Yahoo, and also there's talk of Google bidding, although Google always gets spoken about probably because it generates more eyeballs on the deal.
