Yahoo! Inc., after agreeing to test Internet search advertising technology from chief rival Google Inc., insists the trial run is just that.

"Let me be clear about our commitment to search," President Sue Decker wrote to employees in an April 9 e-mail obtained by Bloomberg News. "We have every intention of being a significant player in search, and paid search is an important part of our business."

What exactly is to be 'tried'?

What if they happen to like the amount it generates for them?

What are those hectic motions I'm seeing over at the Yahoo! camp? Looks like paddling back. Fast. Very fast. ;-)

You would think that Google will "adjust" and "smart-up" the price for those ads that go to Yahoo, so that they will be really excited about "future profits".

Yes, and paid search revunues increases the RMR and therefore the presumed valuation..

Hmm.

It's just a trial, Microsoft. But we can keep "trying" it all the way up until you write the check..

:)

Would this be a good thing or a bad thing for advertisers?

One account to manage, but less choice.
