VTD-XML impression

opinion on vtd-xml

A friend of mine points me to vtd-xml (http://vtd-xml.sf.net) which makes a lot of bold claims (performance/memory etc). does anyone have any input on it?

Those are some bold claims. I tried their demo, and indeed it does all the usual things like firstChild, nextSibling, parentNode, blah blah blah.

I can't vouch for it being faster or better than anything else. But their description does sound convincing. It uses more memory than SAX, less than DOM; runs faster than SAX and DOM.

This is tech to investigate if you have an app that parses massive amounts of XML.
