Your WordPress Blog Posts Can Now Become a Complete Twitter Thread

WordPress has said blog publishers can now publish the whole blog post as a twitter thread. This extends the tweetstorm capability to a complete blog post.

Once configured, the entire blog post will post as a Twitter thread, including text, images, video, and embeds inserted into the twitter thread where they are supposed to at the time of publishing.

Long paragraphs will be automatically split to a second tweet, with the break at the end of a sentence.

The new facility will allow you to see where the break will occur while you're creating the post.

Obviously, you have to connect your twitter account, or accounts, to WordPress for this to happen.

Wow that is awesome, now you can post your entire content on Twitter and your users will have all of it there, available to them without ever needing to leave the platform. As a result your likes will go way up, and your follower count will rise too, what more could anyone ever ask for. It is real win-win situation!

By win-win, I meant a double win for Twitter, they get your content and your ad revenue. The worst part is that there will be people that will use this feature regardless.

I was going to say it sounds absolutely dreadful, since nothing makes you look more of an idiot than overflowing to multiple tweets, as if you’re too stupid to be able to count to 140 and edit accordingly. I think it was Neil Degrasse Tyson who made a point of constraining his tweets to something like 128 characters, i.e. deliberately less than the official ceiling. (Possibly now doubled to 256:280.)

This seems an awful idea, imho.
It may help drive some traffic to the blog, but it might also turn people off the idea of twitter. I used to like the short, snappy text and link, and if this fills twitter's timelin up with a complete blog post it's not helping me.
I already struggle getting twitter to display the actual timeline. I don't mind ads in the feed, but the out-of-sequence posts make it less useful, and this will do even more to reduce it's usefulness, imho.

I can't wait for the same tool to turn a blog post into a Pinterest story...

Nah, they’d have to find a way to scrape another 20 images from unrelated sites.

A catchy tagline or a short descriptive sentence with an accompanied link is how you deal with Twitter ... anything beyond that is pointless.

This is actually just splitting an article into multiple tweets under a thread. Nothing spectacular. But could be useful for lazy visitors who would not prefer to visit the actual landing page..
