Today, we announced at our annual Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) the availability of the public beta for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1).

The Windows 7 service pack is just like the Vista service packs. No new functionality is added at all. It's just a rollup of all the security patches and updates to date.
