Most strategies are about bringing people to your website and making this visitor stay and come back time after time (loyal readers). Back in the days RSS allowed notifications and some helped to stay up to date on your articles, some readers also saved your content. Sometimes advertising and thus your earnings suffer by that, many readers will block ads or alter the count of impressions, clicks, etc, I mean some break the code and everything stops working as expected.
Read it Later (Pocket), was born a while ago, I'm one avid user with tons of articles on my library. Just like many out there I read tons of content on the web: technology, science, internet, DIY stuff, etc. Many times I read things online right away, but sometimes I save stuff for later, for that moment before going to sleep, or while traveling, on a bus, plane, etc. It became quite popular, Firefox has integrated Pocket to it's browser and there are extensions for almost every single browser out there.
You can't expect ads to work there, they are stripped from the saved content. Still there are things to explore about this. I've been thinking about it, haven't seen a thread on this on WebmasterWorld, comments?
