Coldufsion Verity Search indexing code

Problems with coldfusions verity search engine indexing code

Hi all.
I am quite new to coldfusion (and yes its probably on its way out, but unfortunatly my work like to live in the darkages).

Here are the system specs:
Server Product: ColdFusion MX
Version: 6,1,0,63958
Edition: Standard
Operating System: Windows 2000
OS Version: 5.0
Verity: Standard bundled verity collections. (not used teh spider as yet, a good guide to how to use it would be appreicated).

So i have two main problems:
1. I cant seem to index the site as an external site. Because of this the url for the search results is its actual location on ther server disk. The only way i have gotten around that is to do a replace in the CF code to replace the server root location with the base root of the url.

2. the biggest problem, the verity indexing seems to be indexing code in pages (or showing code in search results). Is their any way to stop or get around this?
