Twelve customer service machines need concurrent access to the general mailbox. Our current provider's maximum concurrent users is 5 for any box. They suggested creating user folders inside the general box and duplicating incoming emails to each user. The problem is customer service will not know when others are working with a particular email. It is conceivable that a single email will get 6 or more responses - a waste of time for us and irritating/confusing to the customer.
Does anyone know a managed service that can provide service for 10 - 15 concurrent users? We have considered bringing the email server in-house -- we're talking with a couple potential vendors to set up and maintain an in-house email server since we don't have staff to take care of it ourselves.
What are the pros and cons of either situation? Until about 6 months ago we did not have any issues at all with concurrent users. We're a small company and cannot afford a full IT department. Any help is appreciated
