The DNS for the domain name is managed by a third party company and they have a CNAME pointing the sub domain to my server.
I am in the process of setting up a new dedicated different IP, and need to migrate the site content as well and reconfigure the CNAME and SSL on the new IP.
What are the steps for doing this?
Thanks

Once you have all your files on the new server, you'll go ahead and change the DNS to point to the new one. Once that happens, there will be a delay, where some folks will go to the old server, and others will go to the new one, depending on if they have stored the old IP address or the new one. Typically in about 24-48 hours, you start to see all the traffic just on the new one.
But what do I do with the SSL certs, can these be re-ordered before CNAME has propogated ? or can I re-use the existing ones after propogation? I dont want to be without SSL if possible. I also have some companies with client certs and hardcoded IPs in thier browsers from before I was using subdomains but thats another problem...
I have moved quite a few sites around & good content always stays or comes back into the SERPS quickly. Normally though its a just a change of nameserver not cnames and ssl certs.
