Is there any danger to the integrity of my website or to the safety of my website (thinking of hackers) if I have a .exe in one of my folders? I am giving away free screensavers and still want to be safe. thanks.

How is the executable file getting where it is? Who has execute permissions? What does the executable do? These are things that you should be asking. If you are allowing the upload of .exe files, think again as this is just a bad idea. The permissions should only allow the owner to execute -- no one else. If the executable does anything potentially hazardous to your site then I would reconsider having it there in the first place.
Other than this there isn't too much else. I wouldn't be surprised, however, if your visitors were reluctant to download a .exe from your site, if that's what you planned on doing.
