How true is it?

I`m not from America that's why I`m wondering if the 600 Gigs of Space and 6,000 GB of Bandwidth for $7.95/month is real. What are the drawbacks of having such BIG space and BW?

Well, a lot of times that's called "overselling".

600 gigs is basically an entire hard drive. Do you really think you're going to get an entire hard drive of your own on shared hosting?

There are usually some fine-print clauses in the agreement that allow the host to discontinue your account for other reasons such as excessive server "resource usage".

As your site increasingly uses up space and bandwidth, using more than its fair share on the server, it will also tend to exceed these unstated limits on other things, and that's what the host will shut you down for, even if you're nowhere near what their advertising said they'd give you for storage and bandwidth.

Easy enough to test. Open an account and upload a PHP script which will append to a file until it reaches 60Gb. Wait for a day and see what happens.

No they would just shut your site down until you could either move it or pay more for services they were suppose to be supplying in the first place.

There is a saying here in US

If it sounds to good to be true then it is
Stay away from hosting companies that make these type of statements they can't be trusted, but get with one that tells the truth and charges for their services. Oh yea we have another one as well
Ya get what ya pay for
so if your plans are for a growing site be sure as well get a host that can supply your requirments have good customer service and an IT department you can contact.

Usually such hosts attract all the leaches, and hence either end up with rubbish service or going broke.

It also leaves a question mark over just how much you can use of either resource before you get your site deleted/suspended. I'm sure they just take the top 10 (or something) users of bandwidth/disk space each month and suspend them.

Maybe just to take advantage of having your attention. I don't know if I will be allowed to post this, but, do you think godaddy is a "reliable" host?
