Major Net Companies Join MANRS to Improve Routing Security

Akamai, Amazon Web Services, Azion, Cloudflare, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, and Netflix have joined Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS) initiative, and the Internet Society to create the Content Delivery Network (CDN) and Cloud program aimed at securing hubs from common routing and security problems.
“Putting in place more stringent controls on routing hygiene in the peering environment, will increase awareness of the need for greater MANRS adoption by peering networks. The CDN and cloud community is integral to the Internet ecosystem, and by joining MANRS, they are joining a community of Internet service providers (ISPs) and Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) committed to making the global routing infrastructure more secure,”

I tried to read the news article, but it is all marketing mumbo-jumbo. Halfway it states:
By joining, they commit to the baseline of routing security defined by a set of six security-enhancing actions, of which five are mandatory to implement. The actions are:
A normal human being would then expect a list with six actions, but instead, the article continues with woolly language containing terms like "task forces", "unique roles", "routing hygiene", "increased awareness" and "shared responsibility". If they want to do something useful at the routing level, push IPv6 and ditch IPv4.

I think I got what they were on about.
