Google is releasing it's internally developed Titan Security Keys, based on FIDO standards, for anyone to purchase and use to secure their Google account, along with a range of other services.
FIDO standardizes the authentication protocol used between the client and the online service, and this protocol is being implemented by many popular operating systems (including Android and Chrome OS) and browsers (including Chrome). Security keys can be used to authenticate to Google as well as Dropbox, Facebook, GitHub, Salesforce, Stripe, Twitter, and other services that support FIDO standards.

Google is making the kit, consisting of one bluetooth and one USB key, availbale to U.S. in the Google Store now, with additional regions to follow, although it hasn't said when.
