What about parking at this Hotel - on the premises or street and does it come with the cost of the room or is it additional? Yes, I forgot to ask...

There is valet parking, but it is extra per day.

Also, I will be sending out a confirm and thank you email to those that have signed up either later today or early tomorrow.

Parking is in the building, valet only. In and out privileges. $30.00 per day.

Having tried to park in Boston, I think that's a bargain! :)

Youch! That'll be $90 if I arrive on Friday and leave on Sunday. Hm... should consider taking the bus unless someone wants to share a ride.

Hi lorax - I don't know the details, but if there is Amtrak service from your neck of the woods to Springfield, MA it should be a breeze to get into South Station.

Thanks Edouard_H,
I just checked the fairs and it's actually more expensive ($98) to take the bus than it is to drive ($95). And that includes, gas and valet parking! But then if you add in the cost of the tolls and the hastle of driving - it might be worth it. ;)

I am determined to get to this one, but am having a hard time finding someone to replace me for three days. Trying to get there Thursday and leave Sunday. (I need to do some shopping in the real world with real stores!)

Trying to get a flight right now. Not so cheap from the BVI to Boston as it is from London though! :(

Any ladies want to double up to save a few pennies? Sticky me if so.

Doubling up is a smart idea anyway, Liane. It would be kind of silly to sleep the time away, so how much time will actually be spent in the rooms?

What I'm wondering is if there's smoking allowed in any or all of the rooms. We do have smokers among us - ummm... one of my IM buddies even smokes cigars.

Marcia, you can get smoking rooms ;)

I've booked non-smokng :( as I plan to have given up by then....

arrrrrrrhhhhhhhggggg!

I'm salivating for "real" lobster and clams. Can't go to Boston without pigging out on both. The lobster we get in the BVI ... well it just isn't "real" lobster and we don't get steamer clams or anything even close.

Where's the best restaurant for lobster? I don't plan to eat for about three days before I get there on Tuesday night ... so lookout Boston!

Also want to bring home some live lobster to keep in the freezer for special occassions. Anyone know where I can buy live or fresh cooked lobster to take back with me?

I am hoping to check out the Union Oyster House [unionoysterhouse.com]. It is the oldest restaurant in the US and has been operating since 1826. I think it is located about a mile from the hotel. Anyone been here before? Anyone interested?

Well, after reading the SES war story, I don't know.

While racing to projectile vomit up some bad lobster, Mike tripped an hit his head. [webmasterworld.com...]

I love good seafood, might give Boston lobster a pass though. ;)

I am going to try and get the Okay from my work to come. Does anyone know what the discounted hotel rate is? Trying to put together an entire budget.

Also what are the plans for thursday night? Looking into booking a flight and need find out if it worth the extra hotel night. Of course I would not mind a day off work and staying in a new city.

Thanks, and hopefully I will have some good news and see you all there.

All this talk about food is making me hungry......I just hope thursday will be my last operation before the conference...or I'll be hobbleing around something aweful

I'll be there... was actually surprised that there was still 'room at the inn'.

Will be residing at the Wyndham Tremont ( still have no clue where it is :) ), but I was able to get a Club Floor (smoking - that's all I cared about ).

Flying in on Thursday... leaving late Sunday. Nothing like a paid holiday :) ( err... at least tax-wise )

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

You might want to check your flight schedules, I confirmed reservations today and was rescheduled slightly because of clustering of otherwise near empty flights (Air France).
