I don't know if it's just me, but on Opera 6.05 I'm noticing that some pages on WebmasterWorld seem to be doing a quick reload when I open the page. The effect is like a slightly delayed flicker. Anyone else notice this?

bill, being hooked on the toolbar I don't use Opera much, but I haven't noticed it. I'll look closely next time. No one's mentioned it. With IE I do notice that the top of the pages loads first, then the rest loads. But it's not like reloading, it's different.

I see the proportions of the page layout readjusting. There is a quick rendering, and then the final adjustment.

I think this is triggered by the fact that the "open in new window" icons don't have width and height attributes. Opera draws a preliminary version of the page (a nice touch) and then readjusts it when the icon downloads and its dimensions are available.

It seems to be happening a lot less this week, but it was very similar to what tedster describes. It was getting pretty bad when I posted. I think others would have complained if this was widespread as it was quite annoying.
