Is it just me?

Or has the site become login-per-view?

I can't get to any threads, including those in the Libary, unless I log on.

If that is general, it must be brickwalling a lot of casual or new visitors.

Hi Victor,

It's just you! :)

I tested this and I can see all threads (bar the Private ones) and the Library....

Strange one...

victor, are you unable to see any threads at all without being logging in, or are you just unable to post?

If you come across any threads marked members, are you OK with those when you're logged in?

Hi Marcia:
victor, are you unable to see any threads at all without being logging in, or are you just unable to post?

All threads (at least those I tried) come up "members only" -- and request that I log in.

I've tried from two different machines, and a couple of diferent browsers. Same result.

I tend to use Opera and always flush cookies at the end of a session.....Could it be the security code now expects a persistent cookie, so it works for those who have it?

If you come across any threads marked members, are you OK with those when you're logged in?

Looks like it -- I've start this thread, and replied to one other. But I couldn't view this thread until I logged in.

Massive spider abuse from a few at AOL last week mandated I turn on the cookie requirement for AOL members. Since I can't ban an ip at AOL, the only thing I could do was require cookies to visit the site for AOL users. Thus, the need to login.

I hope this is a temporary situation.

Slightly off topic Brett, do you think that is why I'm getting a lot of aol sourced e-mail spam¿

I don't use AOL Intenet Service and have to login everytime to read the thread. I can browse and read topic names and all stuff, but if I want to read the content within the thread I had to login. Hum...?

Your isp is also on the list NeedScripts. It's cleaner than trying to track abusers and the best place to put the routine is right here in the read threads program.

I never would have thought of doing this, but Google opened the door there last spring by banning one of the largest cable providers in the US.
