Reducing space between posts

I noticed a lot of space is used on top and at bottom of each posts. A lot of short posts (the way I like them) use twice the space they actually need (to my personal taste).

I suggest reducing it a tad.

Could we put informations from the left side of the screen, such as profile, owner edit and sticky icons on top of each posts? Some might feel it is too obstrusive for reading, though.
