I had a post in the PPC forum which I assumed was quite relevant the time, however did not get a single reply.

Posted again in the European forum and get 11 relevant replies within an hour.

(btw, i dont make habit of cross posting, and had asked 1 of the moderators to move the post, but this was around the time of PubConference, so am sure they had better things to do)

True, a lot were occupied with the conference.

Not all members here appeciate the enormous power of the "recent posts"/F5 combo. Some people come in to read specific forums, and don't ever see the active threads page

That's true, and some forums always have a lot of members around so the replies come quicker.

There's also a time element involved; some days and/or hours of the day there are more people around than others. We also cover different time zones, with members from so many places around the world.
