Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me!

At least once every 5 mins.

I think the approach of a Google update causes this action in most of us...After the update the withdrawal symptoms are often alleviated by continuing to click on "active posts"

Try and reduce your needs to 10 an hour. Then after you succeed with this take the next brave step and proceed to use the refresh button.
If you need to you may attach some black electrical tape to the screen to obscure the "recent posts" link, although be very cautious to look away when scrolling down the page.

If you need to you can seek professional advice (in confidence) from "active post clickers unanimous" Im sure they will be only to willing to help :)

<added> wow as soon as I posted this I clicked "active posts" do you think I have caught it? </added>

June 5, 2001 thread:
Going through every single forum, every day, reading the new posts, and then... <hangs head> I sit on the index, constantly refreshing, looking for the famous little red balls...

Brothers and Sisters, what am I to do... I cannot let this go, yet I should try to tame my addiction. <looks away>

you can set the active list to auto-refresh if you want. The shortest time increment is for every minutes. Just pop into your control panel and go to Active List Preferences.

It'll help stave off CTS if you let the software refresh the page for you :)

Setting auto-refresh or having opera reload is just not the same. I have to ACTIVELY click on the recent posts button. Maybe somewhere deep in my mind I'm afraid I might miss something.

Any psychiatrist around? ;)

I have found this too Sinner_g... its just not the same knowing the page will reload instantly.

Looks like me and the "recent posts" link are becoming even better friends. Starting to like that little yellow glow as I hover above it as well :)

>Reload every>5 seconds

Please, please don't do that. Every 4-5 mins is soon enough. Other than that, and it's seriously draining on resources.
The current active list is a bit out of hand in that regard.
