Brett had a great post about what news sources he uses to keep abreast of current SE news, but the post is now MIA :( Doing a site search for Search Engine News Trackers [searchengineworld.com] shows the post...but it's 404. Where can we find these posts now?

Don't really know bill, those posts are possibly archived or moved around. Sorry for the 404, maybe we'll be able to get a current list.

Hey, if you find it, please return to sender. I think it is buried in Webmaster General after I cleaned out the Breaking News forum. It isn't in the site se any more - it will have to wait for the next big update of that.

Yanno...

For all the whining that's been going on lately, I need to mention the irony in how I unearthed the buried post.

Sounded like an invaluable resource (which it is) so I was ready to roll up my sleeves and go digging through Webmaster General.

Always interested in working smarter than harder, I figured I'd give the SE's a try first.

Typed in "Search Engine News Trackers" and in 4 clicks.... voila!

Submit > Repeat the search with omitted results included > Profile: Webdiversity > Recent Posts: Search Engine News Trackers

When Google can provide a path to a message board post that the on-site search can't... I'd say they're doing something right.

(Along with BestBBS being so damn search engine friendly :))

Yup, I now use Fast or Google to search here if the local search doesn't look promising.

Unfortunatly, Google will only index about 20% of the threads here.

So long as it`s the right 20% :)
