The 'active' list does that rc. As the posts build back up and are added to the active list, it will work better.
For now, the old posts from the old board, never got built into the 'active' list, so it will take some time for that to build up and become 'active' (hard one to explain).
What I *love* is the speed. I could just feel SEW slow down to a crawl when 10-15 people were using the old UB. This is easily 5 to 10 times faster at every available option.
It also is where the 'search' function searches. So...no way to search through the old posts. I think I'll add a Swish index for this thing - I was worried about it slowly growing out of control though.
It says I'm a "Full Member" but doesn't have how many posts or "Member Since" stuff.
Ya, the old board had that dual name scheme where you signed in with one name and posts were displayed with another. I had to choose. I think I made the right one. Some (like yours), I had to hand edit because they included upper case letters and the new system didn't like that.
Ah ha! You must be a programmer! You counted 0! Nice work Brett.
Do you ghost write for ClickZ?
0 to 9 is the ten scale to me.. I guess you can tell what I do for a living! (Option Base 0)
Remembering passwords? Engine, do we really want to trust me with rewriting cookie code? (grin).
It sure is a pain to enter the password all the time - I hate. Near the top of the mods list. I'm waiting for OldTimer to point out more existing bugs first. She has a nose for them you know.
I think you've squashed them all Brett - apart from one odd one - that isn't applicable any longer.
You were sent an email from kojoan@earthlink.net to
blinks@searchengineworld.com yesterday
"Hello Brett,
For one, I just want to say "thank you" for the opportunity to be in your links program. I'm sorry to see it go, and do appreciate all your hard work very much.
Best wishes,
Anne"
I don't know whether you received it but it came to me! Not only that, it went to someone else as well -an Irish domain - and when he returned it to you, I got it again!
Any other Netscapers in the crowd?
re: the echo'd mail.
I heard about - oh did I hear about it. I was editing the list permissions file when that email happened to come in as a reply to the mail list. Best guess is that the permissions weren't set while I was editing it. (I'm glad it was a rave email instead of something personal :-)
