I'm confused

I noticed that some threads don't come up on the recent posts link. I know that some threads can be excluded manually by the mods (e.g. in Foo), but I have seen a thread from the Google forum ([webmasterworld.com ]) that is nowhere in my recent posts list.

And when searching if this subjet had already been discussed I entered 'recent posts' as search phrase. The results I got contained the word 'recent' but 'posts' was nowhere to be found. Is it somewhere on the page, but invisible or is it a word that is ignored?

Nearly on topic is my inability to find [webmasterworld.com...] - this appears in the site search results, but doesn't come up when you click on the link.
