Tips:
- I'm getting logged out! If you are having to relogin all the time, go to your profile and increase the number of days that cookies last.
- caching issues! with some browsers (not a bug) - webmasterworld does NOT disable browser caching. It is entirely up to you and your browser to disable caching if you choose.
The caching issue is new because we have eliminated all randoms strings that were previously used in some dynamic urls. Everything is now pure .htm extensions.
(note: I'll update this list, as they are fixed, and found).

Also every morning on my work machine I have to delete cookies exit browsers and then relog in. I dont have this issue at home though. At work I am running on W2K with IE 5.5. If I log in before dumping the old cookies it logs me out as soon as I try to go to any part of the forum. I can not leave the the page or I get loged out.
That would probably be a caching issue. I'm using s-maxage instead of no cache. I've got it set to a minute(?) in order to over ride some browsers that reload on back button with no cache. What browser you usings?
Bascially, the highlighting seems to make it impossible to read whatever text is there (Opera 6.0).
You mean the status line? Hmmm, what could I do to make that easier to read for you? It is standard black text, on a yellow table row background.
You can change that color by editing your skin. Go to:
-> click control panel (from top menu bar)
-> click edit skin
-> click on the General tab
-> edit the color for "status bar"

I'm still looking at the issue of login. I was really surprised that a few were having troubles. Cookie code is always, fix it for one browser and break it for another.
I'm going to do something different with the login tomorrow and see if that cures this rare problem.
Cookies must be enabled to use WebmasterWorld.
OTOH, today is the first time I have seen the main content tables centered... previously, the top navbars would be centered, and the primary content table (for category views, thread views, etc.) would be left aligned for me.
I'll take misaligned profiles over an entire mis-aligned site any day. ;)
So now it's not so easy to do that, without someone spamming their own ISP abuse address. ;)

OK - I clicked that and all the new message icons vanished from the thread. I was thinking only the messages that I had actually read should loose the new message icon, and the ones I haven't read should keep the icon untill I open them. Is this not what was intended? Or maybe I am misunderstanding, thanks.
I would also like to see the forum email subscription available in a digest format. I love the addition of the last 4 active posts in the email as well.
Thanks for the hardwork-
(This post edited just to show you what I mean!)
Ok, I'm confused. I posted then edited - but no edited message?
FYI, when you submit from the edit screen it returns you to the first page of the thread instead of the page you were on.
Maybe the "edited by" only shows up if someone else (i.e. moderator type) does the editing? That was the situation when I orginally noticed the problem.
For example, the third post on this thread:
[webmasterworld.com...]
Now editing this post (edit 1).
Second edit here (edit 3), after doing the edit on the previous post (which was edit 2), which shows the notation since there was a post afterward. But neither of the 2 edits here show any notation because it's now the last post in the thread.
{It would be nice if it came back to the current post after editing instead of the very beginning of the thread, part 1.)
You mean the status line? Hmmm, what could I do to make that easier to read for you? It is standard black text, on a yellow table row background.
Brett, sorry it took so long to respond. I missed your post. Anyway, the problem for me is primarily with the text that is written dynamically as when the thread is updating after I post. It says something like
"Updating thread ...." where the ... is just white background with no actual text. There are some other places I've seen it, but I can remember. It happens fast, but if you want I could try to do a screen capture and send it to you.
Tom
I managed to get a screen capture. Having trouble posting the URL, since "W"M"W" expands to WebMasterWorld automatically. Delete spaces from second URL if necessary

Might be an issue if you make multilingual versions of this board available in the future.
