In the forum(s) I've come across a number of designers/developers that have either switched to SEO, or taken the subject seriously enough to "major"in it.
So I was wondering have any SEOs entered the field of web design/development?
I play a SEO and a web designer. the good thing about doing both is you know the designs the SE's like and can incroporate your SEO warez into the site.
I have partners in web design who do a wonderful job with the graphx ;) I hate graphx ill leave that for...
I started learning SEO with no coding/programming/development experience at all. I did keyword research and SEO method research, and sent requested changes to the programming staff.
I am starting to develop sites now, just slowly learning on my own. The two go hand-in-hand so closely that it is difficult to do just one.
I find it much easier to work with a site I've done from scratch, but I'm not too big in the graphics department and never will be. The two go hand in hand, but they're different skill-sets.
Looking at the state some sites are in with "rankability" I don't see how we can get away from needing to at least get into the redesign part of it just to fix some of them, but given a choice, design is far less exciting than SEO.
We're thinking of offering a special cut-price package that will make it worth their while to out-source while still being able to advertise these services, out-sourcing being still uncommon here.
It's either that or sit twiddling while they make a bags of it, and put the perception of this sector further down the pan.
