I’ve turned off all email notification on my account, by I keep receiving email when someone post answers on a thread, I also use the unsubscribe link in the email, but nothing is working.

Any idea ?

Thanks

Contact me with the thread in question and I'll take a look.

It seems I receive emails anywhere I posted, but I didn’t changed anything in my settings and happens just since a few weeks !

@Treud - If you have checked the box that requests a notification, you would receive an email for every post after you checked the box for as long as the thread is active. If we know what thread you are receiving notifications for, we can check into disabling a check mark for that thread.

I once had a problem like that. Finally did it myself by going to that THREAD and going to the last message. Wrote something at least on topic, then UNCHECKED the accidentally (or deliberately) send email notification BEFORE submitting the message.

Cured the problem. YOU HAVE TO SEND A MESSAGE OF SOME KIND...WITH THE NOTIFICATION BY UNCHECKED.

NOTE: this is a member solution. I'm sure Mods and Admins have other tools to accomplish same.

Good luck!

OMG yes it’s that.
For an unknown reason the box for email notification was ticked !
Should be fine now !

Glad to hear it!

Note to Brett/Mods/Admins doing the UA side, could we MOVE that check box AWAY from the PREVIEW and SUBMIT buttons? All too easy to accidentally activate that checkbox...

Ok, it’s still there even I have the box unchecked.

What have found in the setting is having this ticked: « auto-notification » checked with my email (sticky email), But look like it’s for PM only . It’s weird, because I never checked that, and I’m using the forum since a few years and never had this issue.
Follow threads list is empty, My Forum List is set to : No Email Notification (I’ll change to something and revert to override what is stored and see the outcome)

Anyway, let’s see if this solution is working or not. I will call this a glitch :D If still there, I’ll put a rule on the mail box to filter the notifications

Thanks for the insights anyway !

I found one of the check boxes selected in one of your replies.
FYI, It won't help if you select notification of replies.
Make sure you don't have it selected.

How can I turned them all off ? Because for me it’s all unchecked now when I post

As mentioned earlier:
If we know what thread you are receiving notifications for, we can check into disabling a check mark for that thread.
but we still don't know where your notifications are activated or when it started. Your first post in this thread was checked off for notifications, it is unchecked now.

OK, I have searched through those threads and removed another checked box. I have unchecked the box on the first post of this thread. I believe engine had already removed one from the May Google thread. Until the older data is internally indexed again there may be a few more. but within 24 - 48 hours it should stop.

The only place to turn it on is just above the "Submit" button in preview mode, so that's where to check before you submit a post.

Sorry, not true. Appears above PREVIEW in ordinary reply mode (default view), making it ALL TOO EASY to hit when going for PREVIEW...

Everything is good now! thanks for your help !

I also second the last comment, clicking any part of the sentence triggers the email notification, and it also stays on anywhere you post. I probably hit something and didn't paid attention until I received many emails !
