Server change some time this week. Probably offline for a few hours at some point.

Hours of Excitement, or Hours of Despair ... hoping for the former! (As I am sure it will be.)

dns propagation has commenced...weirdness will ensue. Admins/Mods- leave stuff alone for now.... no validations or edits please.

A little light on details for a webmasters forum :-) What sort of hardware are we looking at?

Any reason HTTP/2 and brotli aren't enabled?

Was noticing some weird things yesterday, like not2easy being a "New Member". Looks OK now.

Was noticing some weird things yesterday
I was especially struck by the time “new posts” was entirely empty even while the Forums Index looked as it should :)

Today, otoh, I am especially struck by the way there are five, or rather 4 + 1, of this thread. At least in Unread Posts; if instead I try going straight to WebmasterWorld Community Center, it is entirely empty.

I expect it will all come out in the wash.

ya - it's Robzilla's fault. hehe

I was messing with apache modules and broke alot of stuff a bit ago.

I'm trying to resist the urge to play (like adding http/2) until it settles down.

Yikes! Just checking WW for first time today and got nothing but 403!

"Server unable to read htaccess, forbidden just to be safe"

Initial panic! Where was my beloved WW?

About 7-9 minutes later (after searching web for reports of WW down... all got good again!

Whew!

Need my daily WW fix!

Ooh, ooh, I got my favorite error message:
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

On certain Very Special Sites, I have seen the equivalent with 404. But here at least I can be confident it wasn't the result of failing to poke a hole for error documents.

Oh, and just watch. If there was some error condition that existed for ninety seconds before being restored to normal, I would bet money that bing crawled the site during those ninety seconds, and will expect to see that same error from now until, oh, 2028 or so.

Yup, ditto robzilla.
I think Brett's going to be busy behind the scenes!

ya, I may have to delete the entire system and reupload. Which could take a few hours.

Had major DNS issues yesterday. In the middle of it, I was making major changes that splatted every forum index. When I recreated them, there was a permissions issue that was compounded by ownership issues. Somehow I got logged in as an FTP user of Pubcon on the Webmasterworld act. (I think I'd su'd to root in a shell and changed a file that then wrote back out as that files owner). So now trying to work through those, but it might be easier to reupload the board and start fresh.

Looks like it has settled down.
