Private Message Spam & Simple Policy

I received a spam message from the user "Claus229" who has a grand total of zero posts so maybe someone could require a minimal number of posts or at least have reviews of early PMs with new accounts or low/no post counts? I haven't deleted the message in case a mod wants to look at it. There is also no report spam function.

The user has been turned off, but we can't un-send whatever they had already sent out so it is possible we may see other reports.

A more likely place to report spam in PM is the action drop down for each PM message. "DELETE, MOVE, ect." Just add "SPAM", and have it notify ADMINS with copy of same and ALSO deletes it from the member's PM inbox at the same time.

No, please do not do that, it will not alert the correct members of the team at the appropriate time.

Heh heh... can't do it as that suggested function has not been coded INTO STICKY MAIL. Read what I suggested.

Meanwhile, you guys at Admin and Mod levels do a bang up job already so thanks for that!

In the old days I just used the drop down from the message id IN THE FORUMS when a forum spam was done and that worked well, but that's not PM/STICKY, but if coded into STICKY/PM would serve the same function. These days I do the web no js so I'm no longer part of the "eyes on the ground" as I used to be. Look at the PROCESS button on Sticky for where the spam alert should be located.

Me? I just delete the stuff when it appears and depend on ADMIN and MODS to take care of it. And I think you know why.

Since we delete dozens of similar messages posted here regularly, they might have decided to try a different method since their posts were never seen. They had never posted here, as JAB Creations mentioned above. In both cases, just signed up and made a good number of people unhappy.

As for expectations, they might have expected to achieve the amazing results that were promised to them when they signed up to promise those results to other wannabe-welthy spammers. :(
