Um.... I don't see any bold characters. Could it be because I run high contrast?

A bit subtle on my screen ... this on the other hand is obvious.

Heh. I, on the other hand, have been using more boldface lately, because to me it stands out much more strongly than italics, especially when used for single words or letters.
