Since when have "all" forum threads been "private"?

Only available to registered / logged-in users

I only noticed this recently as I appear to have been auto-logged out from WebmasterWorld for some reason? I don't seem to be able to access/read "any" threads as a non-logged-in visitor?

Oh, so it wasn't just me. But in your case--ahem, cough-cough--I should think you were logged out because it’s been years since you showed up under the “penders” name, unless you use it strictly for lurking ;)

Yes but now all threads seem to be members-only, so you have to log in. Unfortunately, I don't always have my password manager with me.

Ya, doing some split testing.

You are in the fun A group.

Clearly, Google doesn't give a click about paywalls and first click free anymore. So why fight the tide?

> relogin

Yep - nuked all cookies. We has some fairly aggressive critter bots abusing the system.

Exactly. Search results for WebmasterWorld threads all now require a login (and as robzilla, it's not always convenient to login). Blog/article links to past threads all now require a login which is most unhelpful!

So, this is temporary?

> relogin

Yup login > click on a thread from bookmarks > back to different login page > click login . click bookmark > back to second login page etc etc etc.

Click on new login page and wait, wait, wait eventually get in.

Okay, I must have missed something. I always log in. Did I miss a memo?

Very few active members log out. We've used the same cookies since 2011.

I use 3 devices to read(and sometimes post onto) the forums. 3. Now logged in on a Big screen.

I use FireFox exclusively on 2 devices and every time I close the browser all cookies/data are wiped out.

Should I re-login every time?

I was planting(some do) in a garden yesterday and decided to take a break, took out the phone and tapped on a bookmark, guess what...>>>> LOGIN.
