I am not sure where to post about this but in the last week or so I haven't been getting any notifications from Webmaster World about new posts on the threads I follow.

Anyone else having this issue?

I'm getting notifications. Did you get anything on this one?

No but I got the sticky mail notification from phranque who sent me a message about moving this post to the WebmasterWorld Community Center forum (I had posted it in another forum).

I've noticed something similar on StickyMail notifications: sometimes I get the email, sometimes I don't. For a while it looked as if notifications only came through if the message originated with a moderator. If this is accurate, it may point to where exactly one might want to investigate.

Lets check something obvious, JesterMagic.
Anything in the spam bin?

No but I did get 3 notifications regarding the last 2 posts on this topic (my reply, lucy24, and yours).

Maybe It is just a follow thread issue? If you reply to the topic the notifications works but if you follow a thread (without replying to it) you don't get any notifications of new posts.

i don't think checking the "email notification of new replies" box is intended to work the same as the WebmasterWorld Followed Threads list:

Never used it before, but after "following" this thread I did not get e-mails for new replies. It's just a flag to visually distinguish a thread. But "Flag thread" has other connotations obviously :-)

Yes, you have to contribute to a thread to actually follow it.

Each e-mail notification has an usubscribe should you end up getting too many and no longer wish to follow a particular thread.

phranques' correct, the flags don't work the same way, and, are not really as much use as they used to be.

The forum list subscriptions will only notify you of a new thread, but not a subsequent reply to that new thread.

So the only way I can get email notifications on new posts of a topic is actually reply to the topic? (surprised I never noticed before)

Half the time I end up replying to ones I am really interested in as I have something to add but, it would be nice to get notifications on a topic that is of interest but I don't have any info to add.

Yes, that's correct. It's always been like that.

As I mentioned, the forum list subscriptions will give you new topics, but not notify you of the replies.

Woo hoo, really? On all other forums I can think of, it's impossible to "follow" threads because you're then inundated with mountains of email when all you want is a flag when you actually go to the forum. Nice!

I see lucy24's point of view but it would be nice to have the option to be notified of new replies on a thread. There are many topics I am interested in but may not have anything to add at the moment. I think you would get more people coming back to the forums if they did get reply notifications on threads they follow instead of having to remember to come to check the thread for any new replies.

I am not getting notifications for a thread I started yesterday, "Search Engine Spider and User Agent Identification". All other notifications seem to be working fine though. So not sure if the problem is localized to that forum or to starting a new thread.

I am not getting notifications for a thread I started yesterday

you don't automatically get notifications for threads you have started - you must check the "Email notification of new replies" box to get these.
i edited your OP in that thread to turn on notifications - lmk if it doesn't work.
