good to see some "old" hands here - pls is there a place that discusses which fora are free and which are paid? as an "old" hand myself I'm thinking of paying up again to get access to the "good stuff" but the place has changed so much - can an old newbie get at hand here?

Just signed up again.
Whew, 2003 eh?
I know I was involved long before that as I'm pretty sure I met WebGuerilla back in the nineties, back when the SEO shows were still in Boston. That was such a LONG time ago and not that long ago at all. And I'm absolutely sure I was working in the space with well more than my first client in 2001 as I had an airport security scanner manufacturer for a client - and boy were they lucky they had SEO in place when the towers went down and the nation was struck with such deep tragedy and sadness. Sad to think so - but we may be entering into a similar period right now.
WebmasterWorld is worth every penny.
Just wish i had more pennys to share! I cannot tell you how many times I have had my *ss almost caught in a wringer and a friendly person here helped out.
Bigtime.

@Root13 .... there you have it. The reason(s) why we stay on, come back, and welcome the new folks. This is your hello thread, of course, but dang it, we're also glad to have chewy back!

yeah, sorry. that's also known as "thread hijacking" - so Root13, is there anything you need to know? what business (broadly) are you working in? what kind of sites? are you a developer or more an SEO guy?
I've been doing SEO before it was SEO. At one point I was an "Ambassador" for something known as Overture. That was long before Google AdWords was even a glimmer in anyone's eye.
And I learned PPC the hard way - by spending a lot of my own money. But today, I have to say SEO has been good to me!
