Which Version of the Homepage do you Prefer

2 versions of Webmasterworld, which do you like better.

Do you like the current homepage or
this beta homepage better [webmasterworld.com ]

The only difference is on the beta homepage we put the "Hot Threads Today" and "Hot Threads this Month" on the top above the "Highlighted Posts"

Do you want the hot stuff on top....or just keep in the right nav bar?

I'm not a home page person so it doesn't matter to me.

I very seldom visit the home page, and don't really "like" either version.

But if I had to choose, I'd choose the current version by a large margin.

Like Ken, I hardly ever use the home page..

I seldom see the homepage but prefer the existing version. Mostly because the hot threads for the month and the day are generally such a similar list, it stands out when they're side by side. Maybe later in the month they would diverge more, but for the first few weeks each month, it is too like a mirror.

I would stick with the current design as well, but like others I don't use that page much.

I like the sidebar changes. Putting My Threads closer to the top was preferable. If you were considering the new design I might say that putting one of the Hot Threads list next to a My Threads list would be better (however that might mess things up for users who are not logged in.)

I use the home page once in a while.... mostly to select a forum to post something new in, but like many above, homepage is not my entry page to the site.

Also like most I'm not all that "like or dislike" though the non-beta does get you to the editor's choice news quicker.

I'd rather have "What's Hot" and "Trending" (monthly), and "My Threads" as big buttons in a ribbon bar on top, as well as the Moderators/Posters section. In fact much of the right nav (which I would KEEP) can be replicated in drop down buttons, and with a bit of coding, stay fixed top screen.... which would be more useful on long threads where scrolling is involved, though that only matters if the user has set his message display greater than 20-25 (mine is 72)

I just don't see there is that much advantage to put stuff on top, away from the featured (editor choice) section.
