This is something I discovered since the roll out of the new site.
The collapse button at the end of the date and time of any message contains the actual link to that specific message.
Right clicking for a context menu on that icon will allow you to bookmark, copy the link, etc.
While it is not a click to link button, it does serve the same purpose. Just thought I'd pass this on.
