Software to tag articles

anyone know of software that will let me tag various bits of text then sort based on the tags?

for example suppose i have a lot of history articles and i add say "president" tags to each text article that mentions a president, i would then like to be able to apply a filter for "president" and show all those bits of text tagged that way, but each article will have multiple tags.

look for a software called "cathy" by R Vasicek it's freeware ..has no nasties in it ..it's actually a catalogue/ indexer software ..but it will do what you want ..and is very fast ..
