I have just opened about 20 of the headliner threads into new tabs. After the 5th or so new tab, I was prompted to login on every single page.
I faithfully log in, only to see a generic welcome screen, prompting me to check the homepage again, or read my messages... when all I really wanted to do was read the post!
Forgive me if I am mistaken, but there is not even so much as a link to the original destination...
After reading through the first few articles that did not require a login and closing them, my fuzzy old brain is at a loss for which article to read next, since I can't count past 4.
So, I beg you, Brett, please redirect a user who logs in from whence they came!
Ya, to many posts and redirects. Additionally logged in preferences can override default prefs, which would cause the page to display other than the one requested. So - yes, it is difficult. It is something we have labored over for awhile now.
(sorry for the login tweak - we had cranked down the number of pv's from 20 to 4 due to massive bot raids lately) and from every 10 mins to now 30mins timeout.
well bots or not - in truth its getting really boring deleting cookies and refreshing ip's to read a couple pages at ww
same as rollinj - typically I open a few pages in tabs and then scan them. By a few pages I mean 5 or 10 pages in as many minutes - which is a pretty low threshold, but it seems thats enough to turn me into the enemy - which I aint.
