What do folks think about having a poor (wo)man's pubcon? Have some site reviews and link building shops (threads) participated in by those of us not attending pubcon. Maybe some specific site reviews and comments, outside the site supporters area. (in otherwords, we do it all on the site here, for those of us that can't attend).

I'd (maybe) consider participating including discussing some link building stuff that I do that I normally don't mention publicly - but only if the stuff was wiped at the end of the week. Just like a pubcon session. You see it if you're there, otherwise it's gone.

What say the WebmasterWorld overlords?

The problem that I could see is that we'd be short-staffed here to monitor it all during PubCon. Most of the overlords won't be here. ;)

I understand they won't be here to participate, do they need to? or do they need to be actively here to moderate such an activity?

I don't see this as much more than a regular thread or series of regular threads - just that the threads get deleted at the end.

These could happen at any time, then. ;) If you would like to talk about a specific topic then create a thread on it, perhaps people going to Pubcon will share the knowledge they got from it.

just that the threads get deleted at the end.

That defeats the purpose of a community like this. I am opposed to this sort of thing. If it gets posted, it'll stay posted, IMO.
