PubCon London Event, A Prelude To November's Major Search Industry Internet Marketing Conference In Las Vegas

when many search and social media industry professionals in the United States are celebrating Independence Day, London will be abuzz as the city hosts a July WebmasterWorld PubCon networking event at the historic Cittie of Yorke pub. The PubCon London gathering will see hundreds of leading search and Internet marketing gurus converge on a spot that has been home to a pub since the 15th century. The massive tavern of today will host a PubCon event where Internet and search engine marketers will meet and discuss the latest buzzing news topics, current challenges, technologies and developments, and have the opportunity to network in an informal environment.

The PubCon London attendees who gather at the Cittie of Yorke pub will use the event to discuss search and social media, best practices learned at the very successful PubCon Southwest event held during March in Austin, Texas, and to make plans for the eagerly anticipated PubCon Las Vegas 2009 multiple track conference that will be held November 10 through 13 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. I'm going and I know a couple of people attending as well such as g1smd. I may well know others from other London SEO and affiliate events. I am really looking forward to it and am happy to talk to any newbies about their sites or anything in general. I am going to write my username on my badge and I hope that others do to!

I'll be there tomorrow but I still don't know anything about and, sincerely, I find a little surprising that nobody from the organization replies here nothing when asked. It seems to be not just harsh but a little disrespectful with members, specially with newbies.

When it starts? When it ends? There's wi-fi? It's the whole pub for us or just the cellar? Will be there anyone from WW? Will be there a table to register or welcome members or should I print my own badge?

There's usually a registration table. Can't remember if they printed badges or not. Last time we had the front bar booked but ended up using all of the back bar too. It's 1pm until 4pm, but others will be there before that, and many stayed beyond 6pm last time.

I've read those pages a dozen times and there's not the info g1smd provided about how it really works so I will be there before 1 am (without any kind of computer -I supose there's no any wi-fi spot-)and print my own badge with my WW username.

Lexur, it's an informal networking event opening at 1pm, so arrive from that time. As it's informal, sometimes we have a registration table and badges, other times not. Sure, bring your own badge, and i'll look out for you to say hello.

I arrived almost half an hour early, to find 5 or 6 people already there, and with beers in hand. It got a lot busier after 1pm and everyone seemed to have had a good time, a few beers, and a hearty meal. As before, many stayed beyond 6 pm even the last hardy few, 8pm. Me? I went on to another pub for another meal, and a couple more pints. IncrediBILL would have been proud.

It was great to catch up with some new people, as well as old faces. I missed speaking with a few people that I had intended to. There's always the next LondonSEO for that I suppose... :)
